no if you have the kenwood auto tuner plugged intot he rig the radio usually knows it is there and it just controls the external tuner ther eis a menu setting in my 2000 that tells it you are using an external auto tuner vs the internal one yorus might just see that the tuner is plugged into the tuner port ont h eback of the rig a seprate little poer conector that the rigs have
second settle down and third the mfj tuner wil also have a switch to select which oax ports you are using if you don't want the tuner will take it lol that or the auto tuner if you want to throw it away throwi tmy way lol
you wil gt it fiugred out i wil work and the liklihod of a bad tuner is very very minimal
