Hi and thanks Steve. I think from what you say that
having the 2000 would be a frustrating experience. If the 590
had 2 meters and 430, I'd probably try to go that route, but like
I said in the earlier post, I really wish Kenwood would make an
all mode rig like the Tmv71a. That would be cool! Thanks for
your response. Btw, just worked two guys on 60 meters, on my off
center fed windom with 30 watts and a terrible match. Doubt I
can do any better because I am in an apartment and can't really
experiment with antennas here. Jim

Subject: Re: Stpeech guide output on the Ts2000 and Ts480?

Jim,

The 480 gives much more feedback than does the 2000, and the 590
gives more
feedback than does the 480. The 2000 reads frequency, s-meter,
and menu
settings, but does not read PL/CTCSS or power or mic gain. I
found the lack
of speech in the 2000 to be very frustrating after having seen
the 480.

Steve

Subject: Stpeech guide output on the Ts2000 and Ts480?

Hi listers, I know this subject has been discussed before, but
can someone tell me, us, if the speech guide is just as detailed
on the Ts-2000 as it is on the TS-480? I have a 480 and am kind
of thinking about upgrading to the 2000 but really want the same
level of information that the speech chip offers on the 480.
 Thanks, Jim WA6EKS
