Subject: antenna is finally up
Well, the Hustler 5BTV is finally up. Not quite the radial field I =
wanted yet but I'll keep adding to it but right now there's 8 to 10 =
radials I laid yesterday, today I adjusted where we had problems the =
other day. Still don't have the 17 meter add on kit back on, I think I =
know what the problem I was having with it was though which means I'll =
have to retune again once I get that taken care of but at least for now =
it's working reasonably well. I graduate from college tomorrow and am =
going to my in-laws after, if I'm home in time I'll catch you all on 40 =
meters, if not, Sunday it's a little tight and I have a bit of a noise =
level on 20 meters but I'll try it there when the blind hams meet. I =
might even have a chance to move the TS-2000 to where the HF station =
will be and not run the backup radio, that TS-2000 will be great to have =
on HF again. I hoped to do it tonight but we got busy, then things ran =
late, and I'm out of here around 5:30 AM so I'm headed to bed soon. =
Hopefully I'll swap radios tomorrow night, the TS-2000 is just sitting =
right now, it was on VHF but with a little one, I thought it might be =
nicer for my radio in the living room, next to the 900 MHz one, just for =
2 meters which I'm only on in emergencies and rarely other times anyway, =
to be one he can't mess up when he's old enough to push buttons so, I =
put an old Motorola SM120 there and the TS-2000 will be for HF only out =
in the sun room. I don't think I'll hook the other bands up on it, not =
any time soon anyway.
