Howard,

I had a similar experience. I was going through a seldom rummaged through
drawer and I came a cross a like new, still in the original box in pristine
condition Sharp talking time dating from the early 80s.

Back when they were new I got hold of several and put one away as a
backup. Over the years I forgot I had it in storage so 30 or so years later
when I found this little gem I was thrilled.

The talking time was a classic. I Had two of them in use for decades.
They still work electrically but the points of failure on those clocks are
the buttons and switches. Sharp doesn't seem to even have any information
on the devices as a friend checked with them a few years back regarding
replacement parts availability.

Let's raise our glasses to a great peace of early talking technology.
