All,

I have just downloaded and configured Echo Link, and I have a couple
of stupid newbie questions. I know lots of folks on this list use
Echo Link, so I'd appreciate some help, and please bear with my
ignorance.

First, I was hoping to listen to W1AW, since I can't seem to get it on
the web SDR I use, and I'm still saving for my rig. I found W1AW on
the list in the main window, but it says it is in conference and is
busy. I understand that W1AW doesn't accept contacts on Echo Link,
but how does one just listen to it if you cannot connect?

Second, how does Echo Link behave with JAWS using the same sound card
for transmit? I haven't tried to establish a QSO yet, because I was
afraid JAWS would start jabbering away in the midst of my
transmission.

I still have to read through the documentation fully, so perhaps my
questions will be answered there, but I would appreciate the benefit
of the experience on this list.
