if anything, the ratings are extremely liberal, so a 12 amp supply will run
all day long even at high power with the TM V7a.
Modern power supplies also have over current and over/under voltage
protection, so even if it did peak beyond the rating of 14 amps surge, it
would just shut the radio off anyway...not much risk to the equipment.
