VGS-1 Mystery

BlankOk, got my TS-590 all installed.

With the VGS-1, supposedly Menu 7 is supposed to change the announce speed. 
It varies from 1 to 4.

However, on my unit, it changes pitch.  Do I have a defect, or is announce 
speed one of those things that's lost in the translation?
