One more thought here on the power supply issue:
Yesterday, I recommended Samlex supplies.
Part of the reason I did that was because they are the quietest switching
power supplies I have ever owned.
I have one in our RV, that I use to power the TS480 I have out there. I
have done contesting with that supply, and have yet to hear the fan come on.
Amazingly, too, the supply remains very very cool, even when operating CW in
the heat of a contest.
I can get you the model number if yu'd like, but would have to go out into
the RV to do so.
Just get one with a little more amperage than you think you'll need, and you
should be all set.
Oh, by the way: I don't work for Samlex! (grin)
I am glad you are close to getting back on the air again. I remember that
feeling when the bug bit me in 1994, and I got on the air again after some
23 years of silence! It's a great feeling!
