Lou,
The Eton E1 also has a very good synchronous detector which differs from
those on other receivers in that you can select upper, lower, or both
sidebands. I've also heard that the Lowe HF-150, a British receiver from
the 1980s, has an excellent sync detector, but I've never actually tried
one.
