Hi Dan,

Omega used to sell a high end meter for around $300, however, when they
learned that blind people were purchasing them they discontinued selling
them as it was thought we would kill ourselves.

Radio Shack also sold a meter, however, it has been gone for more than 10
years.

More recently, a surplus seller out of Florida had the "Top Hand" brand
meter for $40. They ran out of these several months ago.

The only source for talking multimeters at this time is the NFB store at the
following address.

http://secure.nfb.org/ecommerce/asp/product.asp?product=843&cat=18&ph=

The meter from NFB appears to be the same thing as sold by the surplus
seller from Florida.

I have learned to order these items when they are available as if you wait,
you will be out of luck. In fact, if the item is cheap enough, I will buy
more than one.

Do you remember the cheap Hamilton Beach talking microwave oven? I bought
three of them and put two in storage.

It's a shame that we have to do this.

I hope this helps.

I wouldn't wait you better order now if you want one!!
