The VS-3 is plug in, there's a little slot with a pot right next to it, that 
pot actually adjusts the volume for the VS-3, as I recall, if you have the 
radio upside down, with the front facing you, it's on the right hand side a 
little back from the front panel but it's been a while since I put one in, I 
haven't had that radio in years. I know I did it myself no problem. Someone 
else said they're going to send you the same manual I have, if you don't get 
it for some reason, let me know and I'll send you mine, it's the same thing 
as the other list member said they'd send you.
