I think that perhaps you are talking about the ts-480 which is 200w.  It can use
speech.  I don't know of any really "high power" radio which has speech output
but others on the list may be able to help you.

What sort of "high gain" antenna are you talking about for your ht?  Are you
looking for a portable beam, a dish, wave guide, loading coils, or what?
