Re tendonitis and minimalist running, I spent about three months  
working up to being able to run much distance.  You do have to give  
your achilles time to stretch back to a natural position -- and give  
the muscles in the arch of the foot time to rebuild.  Self massage in  
those areas also breaks up the built up scar tissue and damage.

Yes, ease into it.
