Hi folks,
Well I decided to get a 2M HT for local stuff, but since I'm more interested in HF I opted for one of the rather affordable Wouxun radios. This is a nice radio and pretty "blind friendly."
However, I probably am at fault here in having problems getting the Wouxun programmed. I started off using the software, but apparently I am either doing something wrong or messing up entering the repeater frequencies. For example I want to setup 147.060 with a PL of 123.0. I can do this from the radio in the VFO, but I cannot seem to get this to save to memory. I also tried setting it up in the software, but maybe I cannot add because the repeater is an offset of plus. So, if the output is 147.060Mhz you just need to add 600Khz correct?
You would think the software would account for this, but apparently you have to do everything by hand, but if you try programming it on the radio itself, it will take care of everything for you. Well ok everything except letting me store it in memory with the PL. I can get the frequency stored, but when I try to set the PL, the radio just gives me an error tone. AH, I'm really impressed with the radio in terms of audio quality and the price is certainly right, but it is a little frustrating. If anyone has any experience and can offer advice I would appreciate it. I did get a document prepared by Buddy and a couple of other folks that provides some great info, but I was just trying to save myself some work and use the software which incidentally only works under WIndows, but plays perfectly fine in a VM.
tnx,
