I am not having the same problem with my IMAX as you seem to have. It
works very well on 10 thru 17 meters but not to good on 20 meters. I am
thinking of shortening the antenna and I believe it will work better on
20 meters. Remember, it is a CB radio antenna but many ham radio
operators are using it with good success, including myself. I find that
it is fairly quiet on my station. It has a ring at the bottom of the
antenna for some adjusting.

As I would have suspected, the imax is a great transmitting antenna.
Receive is not as good. True, if I can hear it I can work it, but the
noise floor is higher. I am wondering if I ground this mast to an earth
ground, if that will help. The noise is a constant s8 on fifteen meters.
The vertical doesn't get out well on 20, but is s units better than the
zepp on
17 and up. I have never used a vertical before.
