Subject: Experimental version for blind and color blind people.

Experimental version with 2 new features that could help color blind and
blind operators to use the logger is available:

http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?galleryId=20

It was built with the code for public version 11.11.03 and can be installed
as a regular update.

1. To enable assistance for color blind operators go to Config, Configure
Ports..., Other and select "Enable assistance for color blind operator"
check box.
When enabled, every callsign in the Band Map(s) window will have additional
letter(s) in front of it. For double multiplier stations (Green color) there
will be "DM", for multiplier stations (Red) - "M", for non multiplier
stations (Blue) - "Q", for dupes (Gray) - "D" and non-workable stations
(Gray) - "N". In the Available window you will only see "DM" and "M"
letters. Blue colored callsigns will have no additional letter there. In the
Entry window the same letters will appear to the right of the frame with the
callsign and exchange in the label which is normally only used for Dupe and
Split indicators.

2. To enable assistance for blind operators go to Config, Configure
Ports..., Other and select "Enable playing wav files for blind operator"
check box. Then go to Audio tab and make sure that "Select Radio1 Output
Device" has proper Sound Card output selected there (the one that will be
used for announcements). When this feature is enabled in S&P mode every time
callsign is entered into the Entry window field and space is hit the
computer will play one of the wav files: Dupe.wav, DoubleMult.wav, Mult.wav,
NotWorkable.wav depending of the color of the callsign in the Entry window.
This way you will know if you need this station or it is a dupe. This should
also work for both ESM mode but the wav file will be played immediately
after you enter the callsign and hit Enter. The wav files that are used for
this feature will be installed with this experimental version and will be
located in {C:\N1MM Logger}\wav\Announcer folder, you can rerecord them if
you would like to hear your own voice but keep them in the same folder. The
path to the files should not be changed.

If it will be easier for you to turn on/off this feature by editing the N1MM
Logger.ini file after installing this experimental version look for the
setting with the name IsBlindOp and set it to True or False.

Note: the announcer will only work in CW mode. Note2: make sure that the
announcer audio is not hooked up to the radio so it will not be transmitted
accidentally.

These new features will require serious testing before they will be added to
the public version. Let me know if you have any questions,

Nick NA3M

P.S. Special thanks to Steve N2IC and Terry GM3WUX for help with these
features.
P.P.S. Those who downloaded experimental version before 20.30 GMT today
should try newer version N1MM-testexeV11.11.03_C.exe.
