Hi Tom,

NotePad is under the Accessories found under programs.  NotPad should be 
found by typing an N when in Accessories.

If you have your XP system setup to look like classic windows, press start, 
move to programs, move to accessories and arrow down to notePad.

If you have the XP theme, press start, move to all programs, move to 
accessories, than arrow down to NotePad.
