Results to my question asking for a referring dietician for osteopenia:

I would recommend The Calcium Lie by Dr. Robert Thompson from Alaska http://bit.ly/calciumlie. It's one of my favorites... in fact, a long while after I read it, I noted that Dr. Mercola also recommended it! So you should appreciate that. I have been a Mercola fan since I was diagnosed. He's grown quite a bit in 5
yrs, so I agree: what a guy!

My own experience has been that despite being on strict GF diets, my blood-work continued to show slightly higher than normal antibody levels. That made my gastro doctor harangue me about how I needed to find all the hidden sources of gluten in my diet. Since I was cooking & eating everything from scratch, there really was nothing much to remove by way of gluten. Gradually doing my own research, I figured that I was fighting systemic yeast infection which apparently is very common esp with celiacs & other auto-immune diseases. In my experience, mainstream docs & dietitians are unaware/ blind to this issue & will not even discuss it. I'd suggest using a naturopathic/ holistic medical practitioner to resolve your remaining issues.
_____
I would look at the celiac disease centers and give a call. The dietitians there will be the most knowledgeable. Here is a link to some of them. http://www.sweetchristinesglutenfree.com/Celiac-Experts.page

Have you tried Tricia Thompson, RD ([log in to unmask]) or Shelley Case, RD ([log in to unmask])? Both are real experts in celiac disease and the gluten-free diet.

I see Anastasia Farmakis in Orlando Florida She is holistic and is the Dr. who finally diagnosed my son with Celiac after many years of suffering without answers. Her phone number is 401-843-6388. She does phone consultations. glutenfreewannabe.com

How about Dr. Wangen's clinic in Seattle?

Barbara Dodson, [log in to unmask], is the only dietician I've met that I trust to know anything about celiac. HOWEVER she works for the Kaiser Hospital system, Kaiser Santa Clara. She runs a celiac support program there with several excellent physicians.
