Barillo pasta (think dark blue box in pasta aisle) was promoting their new GF pasta at the ICDS Symposium last September.
I found the Barillo GF Pasta on the shelf alongside the their regular pasta at a local supermarket (Pick 'n Save) here is Milwaukee last month. It's in the familiar dark blue box with a prominent "Gluten Free" in a light blue oval.
Its a mix of corn & rice and comes in 4 shapes, although my store only had the spagetti. Cost was $2.99 for a 12 oz package.
It cooked up really nice & my non-GF husband & I both thought it was very good. (I find a mix of corn & rice creates its own unique flavor.) I believe I even had a couple for it!
Barillo, like Pillsbury, already occupies a lot of valuable shelf space in local store and the would seem put them at a advantage since it's an addition to their product line, rather than an unknown looking looking for a space.
