I sure hope the rumor isn't true, because the tMV71A is clearly the best 
VHF/UHF rig I have ever owned.

I think it came out around 2005 or 2006, but I could be wrong on this.

That is why the speculation on the TMV71A list took me so much by surprise.

I don't see any sign of it, didn't it only come out a couple years ago?
Kenwood doesn't discontinue things that fast, I wouldn't worry about it.
