A couple more quick thoughts:
Be sure the radio is in LSB mode (or LSB data). You can't tx via the
sound card if set to the RTTY "R" mode.
In the MMTTY drop down menus, there are settings for "set sound card
input" and "set sound card output". I don't think it is a level problem
at this point, but by looking at these settings, you can see just which
sound card MMTTY is trying to access for each function. Also levels and
if anything is muted.
Under the "misc" tab, right at the top you have 3 radio buttons. The
one checked should simply say "sound". The other two say something
like comm txd fsk" and "sound plus comm txd fsk".
Last, be sure your data vox level isn't set too high in the radio.
Maybe back it down and see if you can get the vox to trip.
