hi ed, the amp is a good amp, but they use 3 8874's in parallel and 
basically can run as much power as your 8877.  but the tubes are not 
made anymore and what tubes you can find are very expensive.  of 
course the 8877 is not a cheap tube anymore, i remember back in the 
80's an 8877 was around $425 or $450 each i have 2 of them here, one 
in my moon bounce amp for 2m and one spare.  the gs35b is still so 
what reasonable, but the tube is larger then the 8877.  take care, c u mike
