I had a couple hams from my club come by the other day and install a new
antenna for me. For now I am using it with my HT until I can get something
else. IT's 30 feet off the ground mounted on the roof and works great Much
better then the mag mount I had stuck on the AC unit outside obviously!

Specks for the new antenna. ok, here we go!

Antenna is a Diamond X-50 rated at 4.5db gain on VHF and 7.2 gain on UHF.
Wind rated at 135mph

Coax cable is 25 feet of LMR400 low loss coax. Loss for 25 feet is 0.375db
at 150mhz, so the loss is less than .4 db,

Shielding is >90db for maximum interference immunity, high velocity gas
injected closed cell foam dielectric, and has a solid copper center.

I am now saving up for the rig that I want and couldn't be happier!

73.
