Hello, my name is Bill Deatherage and my call sign is wb4ykl. I got my tech license back in the mid 1970’s. I upgraded to general in the 190’s. I have been inactive for a while. I was talking to some friends about echo link and internet linked ham radio. Since I live in an apartment and am restricted on what type antennas I can use this seems like a very good idea. I found a book on Book share about using echo link and internet linked radio. I was wondering if anyone on the list can give me some suggestions on what I need to do to get started. Is this something that will work well with speech.? I am using jaws on my computer. When I had a station in the past I liked working 40 meters. and 10 meters when the band was open. I had some fun back then. well, I look forward to being on the list. I also like to hear about other peoples operating experiences and DX opportunities.
