    Mike:

To add to what Steve has said, I have and use an Alpha Delta DXCC antenna,
and have had good luck with it especially on 20 and 40.

As you know, I currently am wrestling with an RFI problem on 20 meters, but
I think much of it is being caused by one or more components of my Heil mic
arrangement, although I am considering purchasing a balun for the DXCC just
to help out a bit.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, in my view, the DXCC antenna is a
great buy for the money. It is relatively short, and quite easy to put up,
as long as you follow the instructions.

Mike,

One thing to remember is that the antennas from Alpha Delta, or Hy-Power
antennas in Pennsylvania, are going to be resonant on several bands,
depending on which model you look at. The G5RV is a fine antenna, but
will only be close to resonant on 20 meters and will need a tuner
everywhere else. You may even find the need to use the tuner on part
or all of 20 meters. You've also expressed an interest in 30 meter
operation. While lots of guys load it on 30 and make a bunch of
contacts, it is not really the best band for this antenna. If putting
out a killer signal on 30 meters is a top priority, you should bear
this in mind.
