Check Device Manager first to make sure the tape device is showing up
properly, with no conflicts with any other devices. There may be an IRQ or
other resource conflict causing the backup program to think the tape drive
is constantly busy.
Then (this is off topic and may get me booted off the list) try
reinstalling the drivers for the Ditto tape.
