This is a question for all you paleo-hunters out there. I live in Florida, and there are wild rabbits everywhere. It occurred to me that it would be easy enough to trap and eat them, but I was told by several local hunters not to eat the wild rabbits in the summer months. They said that the extreme heat causes some sort of liver disease that taints the meat. I have never heard of this and question how an entire species can be diseased every summer and still live in the area (and apparently thrive)...
Also, why only rabbits?
Can anyone shed some light on the subject?
Thanks in advance,
