Ben,
Thanks for re-posting!
I'm also in process of self-educating, and trying to keep up with the many excellent links being bandied about.
These are excellent..

Hi Batsheva,
If you are not taking any vitamin K antagonists, like Coumadin (Warfarin Sodium), you might want to consider a higher dose of Vitamin K2. If you ARE taking any vitamin K antagonists then read no further.
Until recently, the highest dose supplement that I could find was around 2,000 mcg (micrograms). In Japan, they regularly prescribe 45 mg (milligrams) per day for bone issues. That is 45,000 mcg (micrograms) per day. I increased my dosage from 2,000 mcg to 30 mg per day after reading some of the research.
Here are some links to articles and products that should answer any questions that you may have about safe dosage, effective dosage, etc.
PS - from the Wikipedia page:
"...there is no known toxicity associated with high doses of the phylloquinone (vitamin K1) or menaquinone (vitamin K2) forms of vitamin K and therefore no tolerable upper intake level (UL) has been set."
