Most of us got in to ham radio to get away from the CB radio mentality of 
the biggest power owns the channel. It's first come first serve, sometimes 
groups and nets that have been on a given frequency for 30 or more years 
have to move because of someone on the frequency before they get there on a 
given day. There's nothing wrong with asking if a group might move because 
of a long running net and usually they do but if they say no, that's it.
