butch dstar is a bit of an experimental mode that is right now totally 
useless to a blind person because the software used to encode and decode the 
digital signals is at this point not accessible at all.  There have been 
some indications that it will be made accessible in the future but since 
this software is proprietary, I wouldn't hold my breath. 73- pat kk3f
