OK Tom.  I can see where changing the length of the 40 meter wire will 
affect the 75/80 meter section, but  not the other way around.  As I 
said, maybe there is something else that I'm not taking into account. 
Hopefully Fred's experience will  give us all a bit more insight into 
the complexities of multi band dipoles.
