Glad it was of some help to you.  I had never really thought about the 
use of digital modes for people with hearing problems, but it makes 
perfect sense.  You don't need to here the signals at all. In PSK just 
click on the signal you want to decode and read the incoming text.  In 
RTTY, use one of the  various ways to tune in the signal by sight and 
read the incoming text.  Pretty cool.  Hope your friend has success with it.
