I've been using the Icom 7000 for three years and am still slowly learning
new aspects of the radio. It depends upon how computerized you wish to be
and how much money you want to spend. I've never run the 2000 but lots of
people on the list have and can speak to it. So far, I have had very little
luck running the IC 7000 with Ham Radio Deluxe. Plus, I have never gotten
the IC 7000 manual into a readable format. I have the PDF converted file
but it helps almost not at all. The manual still needs to be read and by a
sighted ham who can explain the graphic reproductions in the manual. I
greatly enjoy the radio, on the other hand, and find it to be one of the
best CW rigs I have ever owned. Plus, the receiver in it is incredible.
