To be honest, I think they just cover themselves by stipulating the 500 watt
power limit. We all know that 500 watts on SSB is less demanding on a
connector than 500 watts on CW, RTTY, etc..
Actually, I too was a little disappointed in the tech support guy's answer,
but I couldn't get him to be more specific.
If someone else wants to call the number and follow up more closely, I'd be
interested in the results.
