Steve,

I may not be 100 percent correct on this, but I think the pc will see 
the usb audio from the 590, but in order to make use of it you need the 
extra software.  Perhaps this has something to do with the "unknown 
device" message Tom has been seeing.   The computer knows it's there, 
but without the audio software loaded, can't do anything with it.

I may be wrong, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
