I guess the reset command can be our best friend sometimes.   Kevin 
mentioned the possibility of being in split mode, but I'm 99.9 percent 
sure I checked that as part of the head scratching process.

As you said, these modern radios can just get a bit flaky sometimes.

BTW, I think I heard the ST0R guys work you on 20 SSB  Friday of last 
week.  I was listening to the DX side of the split as they worked 6 and 
7 call areas, and pretty sure I heard him work K7UC.  I haven't spent a 
lot of time looking for them, but did get them on 20 CW  and SSB.
