It depends on the receiver, some you can tell the difference, and with no 
AGC involved, you would notice the difference for sure. Most though S7 to S9 
is just plain high and likely you wouldn't notice much difference. My 
TS-2000 I would notice it I think, TS-930 probably, the 706 I don't think I 
would, my old TS-570 I don't think I would have so much. It depends on the 
person and the radio.
