Hello Steve.  I guess my discription is not clear.  When tuning across the 
band for instance, the loud sigs about blast your ears out of commission and 
the weaker ones are a vastly lower in amplitude.  I use an omni 6 plus which 
is much easier on your ears and less fatiguing.  Much less difference in 
amplitude.
