oh wow  that makes me want oe even more i didn't realie the 71a had an ider built in   how does it decide which band to transmit the id on, I assume  it transmits the id on whichever band the control band is  usually uhf since your own voice identifies the hf transmission if you go into it on uhf and come out on vhf to work a local repeater. that relaly excites me and makes me want one for the car even more. I am at adoption events and inside stores where just an ht doesn't get out of the building and I've been wanting to be able to crossband that way like I do at home witht he tx2000 sounds like an awesome radio :)
