Can't help you with the Icom, but I am running Kenwood software for both
the 480 and 2000 on Windows 7 64 bit with no problems. Am also
running a 4 port serial to USB box. Have connected both radios, a FSK
keying adapter and a CW keying adapter. Everything works fine with
these exceptions: First time I ran high power, the logging software
froze up and I had to reboot. A few ferrites on the input and output
cables of the usb/serial box solved the problem, and almost 2,000 high
power QSO's with no other problems.

The other slight problem is more a Win 7 problem. USB to serial CW
keying works, but can be finickey. Just ask Lou, WA3MIX from this list
who was working me on CW a week ago. My pc put my cw into warp speed
and went berserk. I had an e-mail program open at the same time. I've
heard that this problem can occur when the computer is trying to do
several things at once, and CW timing can suffer. I now make sure all
other programs are closed and have had no other problems with CW.
