The only other thing I would suggest is to be sure you followed the 
method given yesterday to go into windows and confirm that the onboard 
sound card is the default.  I would be sure the radio is powered up and 
connected to the usb port.  You should see something like "usb audio 
codec"  as an option in the sound card list, this is the Kenwood usb 
audio device.  Then be sure  that the onboard sound card is selected as 
default.   Then start N3FJP.  Be sure ARCP is not running at this time, 
and see how things work.

I'm curious, is the N3FJP software getting mode and freq info from the 
pc over the usb  connection.   If you aren't getting mode/freq data from 
the radio, there is a bigger problem than just the audio stuff.
