nothing to do with a closed mind, it's I've been there, done that, seen the
idiocy it promotes including thinking the computer's a radio, seen the
repeaters go straight down hill after people put it on, saw my link abused
in my opinion, saw the mentality on there and I can't be a part of it or
support that. Why anyone would work for a ham radio license, unless that's
the problem is people don't work for it anymore, but assuming some do, why
anyone would work for a license to use radio, then sit on their lazy butts
on the computer all day every day saying that's good enough for them just
doesn't make sense when they could do the same thing with no license.
Hearing them call themselves hams makes me want to throw up. I quit a club
because it was full of people like that, funny thing is what was one of the
most active clubs in the area, once they lost their source for radio
equipment at events, is now one of the most dead clubs in the area with no
one wanting to run for officer positions next year. Maybe if anyone in that
club actually worked at anything, got on the air, maybe they'd remember why
they're there. Once upon a time for a small change they could have probably
got me back with my equipment but most equipment is now sold or used or
about to be, and things are so up in the air with my life saving another net
or club is well beyond my capabilities right now.
