Michael,
Regarding satellite tracking software I have good news and bad news.
The current generation of satellite tracking packages for windows aren't
speech-friendly. The closes thing to the possibility of a speech-friendly
current windows package is pcsat32. I have played with it and I think with
a good jfw script it may be made functional. I unfortunately don't have the
scripting knowledge to accomplish this.
The good news is that two legacy programs QuickTrak and Instantrack do work
with speech under the dos box in xp or on older dos machines. Those two
programs can be used for rotator antenna moving and radio tuning but
unfortunately the device used for the purpose the Kansas City Tracker is no
longer made as the company is out of business. To my knowledge none of the
current antenna control and rig control hardware devices work with those
older packages.
I have worked the satellites since the early 90's using those two packages.
I see an issue when the computers I run them on give up the ghost or the
Kansas City Tracker dyes as at this time there are no current accessible
methods of satellite tracking and control with the current hardware and
software solutions.
