Mike,

I had misread your last post anyway.  I Thought you were tuning in 500 
hz steps (.50) and that is much too wide.   However it looks like you 
are tuning in 10 hz steps(.01) and that is perfect.

I haven't used the scope in years, back when I had a bit of usable 
vision.   It's been a long time, which  is why I was a bit fuzzy on 
actual usage of the scope.  I'm alone here, and just tune via jaws 
speaking out the text.   I just figured if your XYL could watch the 
scope  a few times, you could get an idea of what you should listen for, 
and just where in the width of the signal that you should expect  good 
speech.   This brings us back to one of the first things discussed: the 
narrower filters in FSK mode make tuning by sound much easier.

I do uncheck all that extra stuff in the menu.  The control panel, macro 
buttons, key hints, and scopes are all uneeded and just junk things up.
