Hi, all.
Well, I wanted to do a little of the 10-meter contest myself today, plus
check into the Cross-country blind ops net, but, alas, my Alpha Delta DXCC
antenna was acting flaky once again. After working real well, with a 1.5 to
1 SWR on 14.258 last week, I checked today, and my SWR was a whopping 5.6 to
1. And, my SWR on 10 meters wasn't much better.
We have had a major winter storm here in Michigan, and I don't know if the
snow and wind did something, but I didn't want to risk damaging anything by
trying to get on the air.
My Carolina Windom 160 Compact is also up in the air, but giving me problems
too with SWR's that are not very good.
So, maybe after giving and grading final exams this week, I can get out
there next week-end and figure out what in the heck is going on.
I hope the cross-country blind ops net went well today. I heard a little
activity on 14.258 around 21:30 Z, but it didn't seem like any of our folks.
Anyway, I'll keep everyone posted on my antenna woes, and hopefully get
things working again in one form or another real soon.
