I had previously asked for recommendations around Montville, NJ.
I tried one chain from each of these replies, each on Rt. 46:
Mama's in Hackettstown is great, as is Legal Seafoods at the Short
Hills Mall. On 46, Bonefish Grill is very good too.
Maggianos in Bridgewater
Cheeseburger in Paradise
Bonefish Grill in Pinebrook and the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Little Falls.
Bonefish Grill was excellent, salad to desert (not an easy accolade
from one who can usually cook better at home)
Eating GF french fries at CiP with my burger on a GF bun ($1 extra)
and a Redbridge beer was comforting.
ALSO! I want to recommend either Asian Delite Chinese/Japanese restaurants,
80 Morristown Rd, Bernardsville, NJ 07924 and
893 Bloomfield Ave, West Caldwell, NJ 07006
My in-laws have eaten there for as long as I can remember. Food is
well prepared and very good, much better than any Chinese food I've
had in the southwest... I knew we'd want to go out there, so I
brought my own GF soy sauce with me from Arizona. While they do not
yet have a gluten-free notation on their menu, when I produced my own
bottle, the waiter smiled and nodded and was able to guide me towards
the sauce possibilities, avoiding those made in advance with soy
sauce, and suggesting those which do not include soy sauce, or can be
made with my GF sauce. I learned that other celiacs have preceded me!
I did not eat sushi but the presentations were impressive.
A final recommendation in New York City -
Bistango, 3rd Ave. at 29th St. http://www.bistangonyc.com/
They are one of three restaurants carrying a "certified Gluten Free" seal from
http://www.celiebo.com
I had GF ravioli with fra diavolo sauce, with GF bread served to me,
alongside the salad. Delicious!
Expensive, but that's NYC!
