Hi; I have an HP Pavilion laptop that bit the dust. It has a HD with one of those SATA connections you have to push down into a reader to connect as opposed to plug in. (Could not find image, but has little brass plates instead of pins on a plastic card.) I'm wondering if there is a way to, say, glue wires to the little brass plates (can do that) and somehow connect them to the 4 wires that push into a device that will read the same (see 4 wires here) http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&sa=X&tbo=d&biw=1271&bih=797&tbm=isch&tbnid=8cFtjoTPQ9NaUM:&imgrefurl=http://www.overclock.net/t/1158500/l-shape-sata-connector-broke/10&docid=bPuDbEQj_F1W6M&imgurl=http://img01.static-nextag.com/image/Startech-10IN-Sata-Serial/12/000/009/974/652/997465280.jpg&w=500&h=500&ei=ObkTUde7GpDU8wT8moGoDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=670&vpy=248&dur=2031&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=147&ty=152&sig=105757313063452474432&page=3&tbnh=143&tbnw=143&start=54&ndsp=30&ved=1t:429,r:63,s:0,i:281 and worse still how to connect to the other SATA input device (in same pic above). Perhaps I could order a reader, but what's this SATA connection called?? Would prefer to just build something cheesy that works one time.
