I thought I read somewhere the 270 didn't have a sidetone? Well, I reckon I'll find out once I get it. One thing I'll have to get used to on this radio is the carrier balance control, which the Drake twins I started out with years ago didn't have (well, at least, it didn't have it as a front panel control requiring adjustment beyond suppressing the arrier initially).
