Howard, you can also appeal Social Security decisions on a couple other grounds
such as they acted on incorrect information, they acted outside of what the law
allows, they did not follow the required procedures (which is more common than
you might suppose), etc.  At any rate, you can't really appeal unless you have
something in writing from them.
