Albert,
The "boost" option is actually in the Recording tab of the Volume Control,
which may be accessed in several ways, including via one of the menus in
Echolink. Depending on the microphone you use, you may still have a problem
with the input being too low. You may even find that some mics work well
with your particular sound card while others do not, so the key to solving
the input problem is experimentation.
